Overview

The Apollo Victoria Theater in Central London is a historic theater that was originally built in 1930 as a cinema theater. Ernest Wamsley Lewis and William Edward Trent were the two architects who built the theater. The theater stayed as a cinema until 1981 when it was converted into a musical theater. The first musical to be held at the theater in 1981 was The Sound of Music. From 1984 to 2002, the theater was home to the Starlight Express musical. There was a short period where the theater wasn't hosting any musical production, but that changed in 2006 when Wicked started at the theater. It is the current show that is playing at the theater.
